Copper Wire Splicer

Team Fishel, the Best Choice for Utility Construction and Network Installation, is hiring Copper Wire Splicers for our Phoenix, AZ office. The purpose of a Copper Wire Splicer is to perform functions including splicing, testing, pair continuity, and count verification of all types, sizes, and gauges of existing and newly constructed PIC and Paper Insulated, color-coded and non-color-coded cables. Aerial and Underground experience required. This position will be based out of the Phoenix, AZ office however travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Placing and testing pressurized and non-pressurized closures

• Rearranging all outside plant facilities

• Pair identification and tagging

• Count rearrangement, small road moves, and span conditioning for T1 services.

• Read, comprehend, and correct information on cable prints and throw sheets

Requirements & Qualifications

• 3 or more years of relevant work experience

• Previous underground utility experience required, including T1 span construction

• Must be able to read and comprehend prints

• Must be able to travel and work flexible hours

• Must be certified in "working in confined spaces"

• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Must have personal truck and tools including basic hand tools, butt set, tone generator, or greater extension ladder,710 cutter presser, 25, and 5 pair, Tie wrap cinch tool, utility hole set up, guard, ring, blower, pump, Test Equipment, 965DSP, HST-3000, or equivalent

• Optional Tools include: Throwmaster 107, and/or 107A, Explosive gas tester, and Generator
