Mechanic

Team Fishel, the Best Choice in Utility Construction, is interviewing for both entry level and experienced Mechanics for our Rochester, PA office.

A Mechanic at Team Fishel is someone who is experienced in preventative maintenance and repair of construction equipment including; Backhoes, Excavators, Heavy Duty Trucks, Pick-ups, and smaller 2 + 4 Stroke Gas Tooling. You must be able to work as part of a team, or unsupervised as needed. Starting pay range for this position is $19 - $25/hour and will be commensurate with skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles and equipment for needed repairs; perform minor repairs as required
• Perform general overhaul, tune-up and repair work on automobiles and related power driven equipment
• Inspect, adjust and replace necessary units and parts including cooling, fuel and exhaust components
• Inspect and troubleshoot vehicles using various electronic diagnostic equipment (JPRO, Snap-On Diagnostics, etc.)

Requirements & Qualifications

• 2 + years’ mechanic experience is preferred. The candidate will be able to work on a very wide variety of vehicles and equipment.  The ability to be an excellent listener and be excited to learn and be trained is critical.
• Experience in diesel, hydraulic, electrical systems, and electronics is ideal
• Experience with commercial truck and trailer DOT and PM inspection / repair
• Experience with basic truck / trailer electrical diagnostics and repair
• Experience with chassis and air brake knowledge and repair experience
• Welding and fabrication knowledge also a plus
• Having your own tools is strongly preferred
• A valid CDL is a desirable
• Prior construction experience is beneficial
