Description

Team Fishel, the Best Choice for Utility Construction and Network Installation, is hiring a Permit Coordinator within the Professional Services Group located in Northern Virginia. The purpose of a Permit Coordinator at Team Fishel is to aid our underground utility design process by overseeing the permit procedure through completion which includes: preparation and submittal of permit applications to municipalities, government agencies and private entities; review of prints for correctness prior to being submitted; follow up for timely review; delivery of final approvals; conduct field inspections and update design prints per revisions provided by permitting agency.

 Requirements

  • Permit Coordinator will utilize web-based applications to research and identify existing permitting requirements and submittal instruction.

  • Travel and overnight stays in job sites during the work week are rare but may be required from time to time.

  • This job consists of both indoor and outdoor activity and the ability to safely navigate uneven terrain and active construction sites in all types of weather.

 Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and valid driver's license.

  • Must possess the aptitude to read maps, plan routes and work independently.

  • Able to build strong relationships within local governmental departments to quickly and effectively obtain permits.

  • Requires knowledge of MS Office, Google Earth, AutoCad and/or other mapping and GIS applications.

 Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience in permitting through VDOT and local municipalities in the Northern Virginia region is desired.

  • Utility right of way knowledge and telecommunications/fiber optics experience is a plus.

  • Advanced education in Engineering Technology, Surveying, Construction or related field is a plus.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish experience is a plus.

Team Fishel will provide all training necessary to perform this job and candidate will work with other Teammates until fully qualified to work alone.
