Telecom Designer

Team Fishel, the Best Choice in utility engineering and construction, is hiring a Telecom Designer for our Phoenix, AZ office.

The position of Telecom Designer entails creating computer-aided designs such as those used for construction projects and for permitting purposes. Tasks for this position will include some field work, using computer-aided drafting softwares, reading road plans and plats, and performing QA/QC checks on projects.

The knowledge, skills, and experiences that are required for this job include the following:

• Experience in using recent versions of AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil 3D in 2-dimensional applications (only some 3D work may be involved; operations are currently using 2019 versions of CAD)

• Basic knowledge of telecommunication/utility design principles, in both overhead and underground applications is a plus

• Ability to learn quickly to implement project-specific design and installation standards

• Ability to plan and schedule independent and group work to meet aggressive deadlines

• Experience in using multiple types of resources to gather and utilize information for route planning, such as using online GIS sites, reading utility and road prints, and understanding right of way documents

• Excellent communication skills

• General math skills, including knowing geometry and trigonometry to perform some calculations

• Experience using ArcGIS or like applications is a plus

Starting pay for this position is $23 - 30 / hour depending upon experience.
