Description
Team Fishel, the Best Choice Employer in the utility construction business since 1936, is looking to hire Coax Splicers for our San Diego, CA office. The starting wage range for this position is $24.00 to $30.00 an hour depending on skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform coaxial splicing, including strand and lash, make-ready, and new build projects.
- Install, test, and balance active and passive telecommunications equipment, such as amplifiers, nodes, and line extenders.
- Read and interpret engineering plans, blueprints, and work orders to ensure accurate and efficient project completion.
- Troubleshoot and resolve signal leakage and other network performance issues using specialized testing equipment, including signal level meters and time-domain reflectometers (TDRs).
- Perform aerial and underground construction work, including climbing poles, working in bucket trucks, and accessing confined spaces.
- Ensure all work is completed to company and industry standards, prioritizing safety and quality.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and system-as-builts.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and project managers to meet project deadlines.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a coaxial splicer.
- Proficiency in coaxial and HFC splicing techniques and best practices.
- Experience with various splicing tools and testing equipment.
- Ability to read and understand network design maps and prints.
- Strong understanding of RF theory and signal flow.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
